Review by Publisher's Weekly Review
In this sweet and playful dad-and-son tale, a sequel to Mommy's Little Star, Little Fox and Daddy Fox go searching for a new den in an airy spring meadow. Observing where other animals make their homes, nothing is quite the right fit for Little Fox. "I'm glad I don't live in here," he says, splashing his father in a fish pond. "It's wet and cold and runny." The foxes find a mound of dirt and dig all afternoon, until they have a cozy den of their own that's lit up by golden swirls of fireflies. Ages 4-8. Review by Horn Book Review
In this slim story, Little Fox and his father, taking a walk one spring day, see other animals building nests or clearing out holes. Little Fox speculates about living high in a nest or deep underground, but ultimately he and his father decide to build their own new den. Warm-hearted illustrations of smiling foxes and other furry creatures have some appeal. (c) Copyright 2011. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
