Review by School Library Journal Review
PreS-Gr 1-These small-sized, easy-to-read books focus on different modes of transportation. Three- to five-word sentences, set in large font, are surrounded by white space and paired opposite a full-color photograph that is also framed in white. The limited texts, appropriate for very beginning readers, describe how the vehicles move and what they carry. Each volume includes a "words to know" glossary supplemented by a smaller photo replicated from the text. Eye-catching covers clearly reveal the books' subject matter and will attract the attention of preschoolers. Preschool and kindergarten teachers will find the volumes useful for transportation units. Good choices for libraries looking for very basic books on a beginner-reader level.-Lynn K. Vanca, Akron-Summit County Public Library, Richfield, OH (c) Copyright 2010.
