Gr 5 UpAn excellent visual introduction to military arts and science. Holmes traces the history of battle and warfare from the ancient Assyrians to World War I. Each chapter contains an assortment of full-color captioned photos and drawings featuring explanations on most aspects of war: infantry, artillery, supply and transport, reconnaissance, etc. Presented in a clear style with stunning photographs, this browsable book is the next best thing to visiting a museum.L.R.
