Review by School Library Journal Review
PreS-Gr 2-Two short stories designed to introduce French to English-speaking children. The simple text is given in both languages. The books include suggestions for parents and teachers on effectively using this material; each one also has a picture dictionary and pronunciation guide. The stories are innocuous and the color illustrations pleasant. However, despite a disclaimer that the pronunciations "cannot be completely accurate," many are so blatantly incorrect that no French speaker would possibly understand them. Children deserve more reliable material.-Ann W. Moore, Schenectady County Public Library, NY (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
