Ages 5-8. This revision of Green Grass and White Milk (1974) features all new, full-color artwork rendered in watercolor, ink, and pencil crayons. With the exception of a few minor grammatical changes, the text has remained the same. The author has added a brief mention of the quality control procedures used by dairies and has redrawn the chart depicting how milk is processed, making it much easier to follow. She also includes a more complete explanation of how cheese is made. Unfortunately, four pages describing how to make yogurt have been eliminated. An excellent primary-level introduction to dairy science, this title in the Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science series is comparable to Gibbons' The Milk Makers.
