This eighth book in the Commissario Brunetti mystery series was first published in 1999. When Paola Brunetti decides to object to one of society's evils by breaking a window of a travel agency that routinely plans tours for men preying upon powerless young Asians, she opens the way to another crime. The agency owner is strangled, and a note found with the body proclaims the reason to be his tours for pedophiles. Commissario Brunetti discounts the note when he finds perplexing leads into yet another immoral business. VERDICT Crime in Venice is a little more exotic than crime in the United States, so prepare to be charmed by David Colacci's reading, the likable characters, and the Venetian views.
