Hill and Taylor, hosts of the DIY Network's Grounds for Improvement, have created an instruction manual for architectural landscaping that features projects similar to those from the show. With 40 projects in four chapters, the book provides much visual instruction-color photographs accompany each step, and bird's-eye view sketches show what space is required and how elements should be placed. Instructions are clearly numbered and easy to understand, and each project includes an index of materials needed. The authors offer useful tips and "finishing touches" for help in completing and adding extra flair to projects; appendixes with planting advice, mathematical conversions, and a short index complete the book. Users unfamiliar with the show should be aware that these projects require team effort, time commitments of a week or more, access to special tools and machinery, relatively large budgets, and construction and carpentry skills; not for the weekend warrior!
