Review by School Library Journal Review
Gr 2-4-Strange things are going on at A.J.'s school-lesson plans for all subject areas seem linked, and the teachers are behaving oddly. It turns out they are about to be visited by a famous author-Miss Suki. She writes books about endangered species and recently won a prestigious literary award. Can they host her appropriately? The book is an absolute riot, and Jared Goldsmith provides just the right voices for a kid's perspective on the big event and its escalation into catastrophe. VERDICT This irreverent story will make anyone who has ever been involved in an author visit grin at the grains of truth, greatly magnified, to be found here. It's a lot of fun and will bring somewhat guilty chortles to both children and adults.-Teresa Bateman, Brigadoon Elementary, Federal Way, WA © Copyright 2015.
