Review by School Library Journal Review

Gr 2-4-These books are handsomely illustrated. In Beaver, the animal is described as a mammal (a term that is explained) belonging to the rodent family. Its habitat is outlined, along with information on how it builds lodges, dams, and burrows. Diet, growth, and facts about the young are included. The information is presented in a flowing narrative accompanied by color photographs and drawings that perfectly illustrate the texts. In Penguin, facts are similarly outlined in a lively manner. These works have a wealth of factual information and would be excellent for reports.-Cynde Suite, Bartow County Library System, Adairsville, GA (c) Copyright 2010.
