Gr 4-6-A basic introduction to the settlement of the Plymouth Colony and the writing of the Mayflower Compact. Small sidebars dispense added details, quotes, and clarifications. Focus boxes offer mini introductions to specific people involved with the colony. Photos, reproductions, and illustrations add life to the straightforward text. Primary-source documents include "The Mayflower Compact," Mourt's Relation (a sort of journal written by Edward Winslow and William Bradford), and the "Charter of the Colony of New Plymouth." There is no bibliography.
