Starred Review. Ex-FBI agent Rae Gabriella needs to get away from Washington, DC, and the painful guilt she still feels over the death of a man she falsely accused of homicide. She takes refuge back home in Justice, IL, as a private investigator partnered with former fiancé Bruce Chapel. As Rae adjusts to her new life. Sherriff Nathan Justice takes an interest in her as well. But will spying on cheating husbands and finding lost dogs be enough for Rae after years of hunting down killers and solving gruesome crimes? Then again, things in Justice may not be as serene as she thinks. A perennially best-selling author for the CBA, Henderson (the "Uncommon Heroes" and "O'Malley" series; The Witness) knows how to blend fast-paced suspense with intriguing romance and multidimensional characters in a contemporary setting. Fans of female detective stories will enjoy this latest entry, which is sure to be in demand. Henderson lives in Illinois. (c) Copyright 2010.
