Review by School Library Journal Review
K-Gr 2-This alphabetical listing of 3000 words seems fairly random and is not helped by the color cartoon vignettes that are heaped one on top of another with no common thread to bring them together and a minimum of white space between them. The English words appear in bold with their accompanying Spanish translations and are then used in sentences. Some translations are suspect or just plain misleading, e.g., across/cruzó; away/lejos; go down/bajar. Every so often, there is a topical spread-dinosaurs, numbers, animals, opposites-but they are not given a heading and the Spanish words are not appended to the English. A page of irregular verbs is added to the end of the book with no explanation. This is a poor example of a reference book, and will be of little use in an educational setting. (c) Copyright 2010.
