Review by Library Journal Review
Weil, clinical professor of medicine and director of the Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona and well known for his many books and television appearances, looks at aging in a wholly reasonable and realistic way. Deploring the trend toward antiaging techniques such as the use of human growth hormone, he recommends a balanced program of healthy eating based on current medical research into anti-inflammatory and antioxidant foods, regular exercise, and physical and mental connections with other people to enhance our quality of life at any age and to reduce the amount of time spent in the inevitable physical decline toward death. Weil has been called "the voice of reason in a deeply divided world" by the San Francisco Examiner, and he shows why here. This lecture is an excellent introduction to Weil's overall principles and will spark interest in his books. Recommended.-Susan B. Hagloch, formerly with Tuscarawas Cty.
