Review by School Library Journal Review

Gr 5 Up-This book has great writing and superb illustrations and manages to do everything right-from the front cover to the index. The author is clearly knowledgeable about her topic and her enthusiasm is contagious. Her dragons are wonderfully diverse and, while none of them looks particularly easy to draw, the sheer breadth of Peffer's imagination will encourage readers to try and create some of their own. The writing hits the perfect note between didactic and mischievous and will especially appeal to the sensibilities of teen artists. There is nothing else out there right now with the wit and style of DragonArt; it is sure to become a classic in fantasy-art instruction.-Steev Baker, Kewaskum Public Library, WI (c) Copyright 2010.
