The reissues of Woods's classic "Dutch" trilogy continue with this anniversary edition of her 2005 novel. Three years after his bloody courtroom shoot-out, Dutch has disappeared and is believed to be dead. Meanwhile, the remaining members of his crew try to carve out their own pieces of his empire. Trusted lieutenant One-Eye Roc, having embraced Islam in prison, now tries to end bloodshed in the hood, while Angel has lesbian affairs with gangsters' women to organize a coup. But who will claim Dutch's crown? Verdict This title sets up the final work in the trilogy, but readers should hang in there while wading through the complicated betrayals and double dealings. The twist on the last page will have readers thinking, "Oh, no, she didn't!"-Rollie Welch, collection manager, Cleveland P.L. (c) Copyright 2010.
