Review by Library Journal Review

The ancient arts of mold making and casting are used largely by sculptors, prop makers, and puppeteers. Brooks (fine art, Central St. Martins, London) teaches the old methods, which rely on clay, plaster, and wax, and modern techniques, which involve silicone, vinyl, fiberglass, and polyester. He imparts a lot of highly technical information while showing how to create exciting faces, vases, and abstract pieces in myriad textures and styles. This is a worthy successor to Bruner F. Barrie's Mold Making: Casting and Patina. (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
