Review by Library Journal Review
This work fits perfectly between strictly introductory books like Carol Cooper's No Experience Required: Watercolor and more advanced ones, such as Hazel Harrison's Master Strokes: Watercolor-A Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Techniques of the Masters. Artist Moses begins by reviewing the fundamentals before delving into color backgrounds, textures, layering, and shading. She is particularly good at teaching simple ways of capturing the figure within a landscape, putting the figure in motion, and infusing it with feeling. Lessons in creating moody skies, watery landscapes, and a finished work are rounded out by a varied gallery of work by other artists. Highly recommended. (c) Copyright 2010.
