Review by Publisher's Weekly Review
Neil Gaiman's wry The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish, illus. by Dave McKean, returns in a new edition that includes Gaiman's narration on an included CD, as well as new cover art and an afterword by the author. PW said this tale of a boy who trades away his father is "[an] energetic, eye-catching volume." (c) Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved

The title gives the premise; the conflict comes when Dad is further swapped by the former goldfish owner for a guitar, again swapped for a gorilla mask, and finally for a rabbit before returning home at last. The story is funny but overextended and lacking a payoff; the mixed-media illustrations are fresh and imaginatively designed but don't justify their extravagance. (c) Copyright 2010.
