Hart has published so many good books on cartooning that one is tempted to simply put in a standing order and be done with it. This volume recalls the 1950s cartoon style reminiscent of The Jetsons, The Flintstones, and Yogi Bear-the same style now popular in SpongeBob SquarePants, Johnny Bravo, and Dexter's Lab. Leaf through Cartoon Cool and learn how to draw "A Dad, a Bathrobe, and a Cup of Coffee," or ten ways to draw the retro-style family pet. Hart's wry humor is evident throughout. A good choice for large collections; smaller ones may want a more general cartooning book, like Steve Marchant's The Cartoonist's Workshop. (c) Copyright 2010.
