PreS-In the first title, a purple-pajama'd little girl regales listeners with her many reasons for favoring these purring, hiding, dreaming felines. "Some cats just yawn./Some cats just purr./Some cats just watch./And some clean their fur." Saltzberg's lively stripy, spotty, climbing cats, done in pencil, ink, and acrylics, are sure to win over young children. The sweet child pictured in the second title is seen among plenty of appealing pups, and, "short hair or furry," loves all of them. The many illustrations of happy, sleepy, big, and little dogs performing tricks, running, and playing are endearing. Very young children will delight in the lively, colorful illustrations and breezy rhyming texts about dogs and cats engaged in different activities.
