K-Gr 3-A boy ends up minding his younger brother when their grandmother falls asleep on the couch. While he is running the show, Will gives readers lessons on what a sitter should never do. According to him, lesson number one is: don't forget about your charge. The havoc wreaked by one preschooler is humorously exaggerated. The bright and colorful illustrations and the wonderful facial expressions will make readers laugh even without reading the text. It is a bit unrealistic that the grandmother never wakes up to realize what is going on with all the noise the brothers are making, but the story is all in good fun and not to be taken too seriously. Overall, this is an accessible choice for newly independent chapter book readers.-Lisa S. Schindler, Children's Librarian, Bethpage Public Library, NY (c) Copyright 2010. Will regrets not paying full attention to his younger brother when Grandma falls asleep on the couch. One disastrous mess after another inspires Will to offer his own baby-sitting tips. The most important: ""#5: don't let him out of your sight for even ONE MINUTE."" Confident readers will enjoy the zany cartoon illustrations as much as the silly plot. (c) Copyright 2010.
