Review by Library Journal Review

Psychologist, dating coach, and author (The Couple's Journey), Campbell takes on the task of letting one's guard down and clearly expressing thoughts and feelings. She explains how many people do not discuss difficult topics with others to avoid a conflict, a practice that builds walls and resentment. Specific phrases and examples that will help readers express differences and misunderstandings in nonthreatening ways are offered; a chapter on "triggers" explains how people behave when one of their unconscious fears gets set off and how they can diffuse the situation. An excellent primer for all public libraries. (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
