Review by Library Journal Review
Family takes you in when there's nowhere left to go. Thus, Betsy finds herself in Excelsior, MN, in her sister's needlework shop, Crewel World. She loves her sister-isn't so sure about either needlework or Minnesota-so when her sibling is murdered, Betsy is determined to find the killer. First published in 1995, the story only seems dated when Betsy exclaims delight at Windows 95. Susan Boyce's mature voice is perfect for Betsy and the denizens of this cozy mystery who are past the first blush of youth. She also juggles a variety of area accents. The mystery is tightly plotted, and needlecrafters will delight in the details. Note that the publisher will post a PDF of a free needlepoint pattern on its website. Recommended for cozy and craft fans.-Jodi L. Israel, MLS, Birmingham, AL (c) Copyright 2011. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
