Review by Library Journal Review

Shortly before the crumbling of the Berlin Wall, a loyal Communist suffers a heart attack and falls into a coma at the sight of her son being beaten by riot police. Eventually waking up eight months later, the dazed woman is kept in the dark about German reunification because doctors claim the shock could kill her. Even for an admittedly diverting screwball comedy, Wolfgang Becker's film is pretty farfetched in its reliance on flimsy, transparent deceptions. For larger collections. (c) Copyright 2010.
