Review by Horn Book Review

In Boo, Junie B. dresses as a scary clown for Halloween to combat her fear of real trick-or-treating monsters. In Shipwrecked, she causes a disaster starring in a Columbus Day school play while her class suffers a stomach bug. The slight, mishap-based plots are poorly shaped, and the idea of a first grader using cutesy baby talk (""Finally, Herbert got frustration in him"") strains credibility. [Review covers these Stepping Stone titles: Junie B., First Grader: Boo...and I Mean It! and Junie B., First Grader: Shipwrecked.] (c) Copyright 2010.
