Some double-page spreads in this book look at a particular topic (camouflage, courtship, habitats), while others focus on a specific type of bird, such as woodworkers, game birds, and birds of prey. The busy pages, crowded with text and text boxes, close-up color photos, and captions, are often confusing. A habitat key to the birds discussed is appended.
