Review by Horn Book Review

Despite some overly stiff prose, the Colliers have created a unique and valuable resource for history students. The books focus on political and institutional (rather than social and cultural) history, debunk out-of-date myths, include viewpoints not often heard, and present portraits--of Indians, colonists, and British--that neither romanticize nor demonize. Illustrated with historical and reenactment photos. Bib., ind. (c) Copyright 2010. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
