Review by Kirkus Book Review

It all began with that shoe on the wall,"" and whoever wants to play the what's-wrong-with-the-picture game can find similar oddities -- from three to 20 per double page -- throughout. One scene has a green sun and another two suns in the sky, there are cars in the sky, too, and headless strollers in the park, misspelled signs, houses without doors, and of course those silly shoes everywhere. What beats us is how this is expected to turn kids on to reading, as the text was composed by a half-asleep hack (""I looked in the kitchen. I said 'By cracky! Five more things are very wacky'"") and all your attention is directed to the cheaply stamped-out pictures anyway. Copyright ©Kirkus Reviews, used with permission.
