Gilgamesh sets out on a quest to conquer death and achieve immortality in this final book of Zeman's trilogy about the ancient Sumerian epic. The straightforward text makes the story accessible to modern readers. Unfortunately, Zeman has added a cartoonlike lion cub accompanying Gilgamesh that jars with the rest of her strong illustrations, designed to reflect Mesopotamian statuary and paintings.
