Review by Kirkus Book Review

An old-timey, jingle-jangle rhyme that repeatedly strikes a single, edible note--""Three berry/Four berry/Hayberry/Strawberry//Finger and pawberry/My berry, your berry""--as a boy and a bear prance through floods and fields and assorted festivities. The verse, however, has neither the imagination nor the zaniness to quite make it into the nonsense class; indeed, the best that can be said about some of this--""Strawberry ponies/ Strawberry lambs/Dancing in meadows/Of strawberry jam""--is that kids can do better, and might have a try. But both the verse and the hokey pictures are the sort of thing that Clyde and Wendy Watson pull off with more polish. Copyright ©Kirkus Reviews, used with permission.
