Review by Kirkus Book Review

That tricky teacher Miss Nelson is back again, and she continues to confound everyone from principal Mr. Blandsworth to her pupils in room 207. Once more, too, the fearsome Viola Swamp puts in an appearance, this time to shape up a no-win football team that has blanketed the Horace B. Smedley School with gloom and driven poor Coach Armstrong gaga. ""Holy smoke! The Swamp !"" cries the team when Viola shows up on the field. ""The team's fullback tried to pussyfoot away. 'Not so fast, Mr. Smarty!' said Coach Swamp. 'Wow!' said one of the guys. 'Did you see that tackle?'"" For readers who do see it, the new coach is clearly a force to contend with. Those who remember Miss Nelson/Swamp's previous Jekyll/Hyde tricks will be puzzled this time by the teacher's presence in her classroom while La Swamp gives the team the business on the field. We wouldn't dare give her secret away: Suffice it to say that such an offender might have two Miss Swamps to deal with next time. Another A+ performance.
