Review by Library Journal Review

Ashmun, a garden designer and writer, includes all aspects of garden design in this slim volume. She explains basic design principles, from using plants around structures to such basic considerations as colors, shapes, and seasonal changes. Instead of using a textbook approach, Ashmun describes how she works to conceive and develop a plan for a home garden design. The strength of her book lies in the presentation of the design process as a creative plan using plants in a landscape.
