Review by Library Journal Review

In this 1936 Hercule Poirot title, the Belgian detective is present when the enigmatic Mr. Shaitana is murdered, and the possible motives are even more numerous than usual. Narrator Hugh Fraser, who plays Captain Hastings on the TV adaptations of the Poirot series, pauses at just the right moments, also providing varied pronunciations to reveal the characters' class differences and prejudices. Among the best of the Poirot mysteries; highly recommended for popular collections.--Michael Adams, CUNY Graduate Ctr. Lib. (c) Copyright 2010.
