Review by Library Journal Review

Costello returns with a follow-up to her hugely popular Celebrate with Babs, this time to help with weekday meals. She breaks down recipes for each day of the week with a theme that focuses on a particular category, such as "Get Your Sheet (Pan) Together Mondays," featuring recipes that use just one sheet pan, for easy cleanup. Costello highlights the benefits of planning ahead and choosing dishes for the week which streamline weekly shopping and time in the kitchen. In the "Twofer Tuesday" section, readers are encouraged to double recipes for freezing or eating the next day, while in the "Thrifty Thursday" section, home cooks are encouraged to use pantry staples on hand. Simple but appetizing recipes include Grammie's chicken cutlets and Picky-Eater Pasta, which are certain to bring families to the dinner table. Each recipe is written clearly with encouraging, easy-to-follow steps. Sprinkled throughout are short "Babs Says" tips that impart the feeling of a grandmother whispering advice and life lessons into one's ear. VERDICT This appealing cookbook features accessible recipes and warm guidance to ensure many happy evenings around the dinner table.--Ron Block
