The scary of Sixty-First

Streaming video - 2021

Berlin Film Festival's Best First Feature Award Winner, Sitges and BeyondFest official selection and the debut from filmmaker, actress and "Red Scare" podcast host Dasha Nekrasova. Drawing inspiration from Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut, The Scary of Sixty-First follows two mismatched roommates that discover the murky secrets of their new Upper East Side apartment. The film is as possessed as one of its protagonists: while she finds herself being taken over by the spirits of billionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein's young victims, the film exacts ruthless, mocking revenge on the perpetrator, while also taking us on a brilliant romp back through the history of film and the media.
