Wait and see Finding peace in God's pauses and plans

Wendy Pope

eAudio - 2016

Every woman struggles with times of waiting: for a spouse, a child, a job. In Wait and See, Wendy Pope guides listeners to focus on their faith rather than the object of their wait. Pope draws on the story of King David, who was anointed king nearly twenty years before he took his throne. This hands-on guidebook invites listeners to record their own waiting discoveries. With practical suggestions and real-life stories, Pope shows Christians how they can be active in the present as they hope for the future.

Review by Publisher's Weekly Review

Pope (Trusting God for a Better Tomorrow), creator of Read Thru the Word online Bible studies and a nationwide speaker with Proverbs 31 Ministries, tackles the topic of learning to be patient and wait when one's prayers are not quickly answered. Telling both her own stories and those she has gathered throughout the years, Pope generates lots of comic relief throughout this practical primer as she gives examples of "good grace" in waiting through tough times such as singlehood, financial loss, and physical illness. Pope is very candid about her own failings-particularly her own struggles with accepting God's timeline-and readers will relate to her suggestions on finding peace amid personal disappointment and pain. Pope actively encourages readers to get busy developing their inner ability to trust God, but some of the add-ons at the close of each topic will sound contrived to those familiar with more in-depth self-help titles. However, fans of Pope and her Bible studies will rejoice at having an uplifting guide to what can feel like an interminable process of holding onto faith in God. (Oct.) © Copyright PWxyz, LLC.
