Review by Publisher's Weekly Review

Wilde (Love of the Game) reunites three estranged sisters in this powerful tale. After Helen Chapman is diagnosed with advanced brain cancer, she becomes even more determined to heal the deep rift among her granddaughters: Madison, the sensible peacemaker; Gia, a free-spirit; and Shelley, who is the most reluctant to reconnect after having left Moonglow Cove, Tex. Helen's dying wish is that her granddaughters return to finish Madison's wedding quilt. When Madison and Shelley balk, Gia invents a fake engagement to hunky next-door neighbor Mike Straus, which starts as a ploy but just might develop into something serious. Both Madison and Shelly are dealing with traumas: TV host Madison is mourning the miscarriage of a child, and Shelley is fleeing a Costa Rican yoga cult. Things become even more strained when the sisters learn that their grandmother has taken a lien against the Moonglow Inn, where they were raised. In coming back together, however, the sisters discover that their bond is more resilient than anyone expected. Wilde's fine characterizations and pulsating plot will please readers who enjoy family sagas. Agent: Jenny Bent, Bent Literary. (Mar.)
