A wanderer, Hershel of Ostropol, arrives in a village on the first night of Hanukkah, looking forward to fellowship and latkes. Review by Horn Book Review

Fiction: PB An original story in the tradition of the old Yiddish folk tales about Hershel Ostropolier. This book is welcome both as a Hanukkah story and as a trickster tale. Review, p. 52.
