Jack Lemmon and George C. Scott lead an all-star cast in this compelling look at the jury deliberations in a murder trial for which a conviction means sending a young man to death row. In the course of the deliberations, a fair-minded juror (Lemmon) exposes enough holes in the prosecution's cut-and-dry case to create a reasonable doubt and cast light on the prejudices that can too often pollute the legal system.
