Gary Zukav

"Universal Human gives us new tools to grow spiritually and shows us how to transform everyday experiences of hopelessness, emptiness, and pain into fulfillment, meaning, and joy. It points us toward a startling new destination--a species that is beyond culture, religion, nation, ethnic group, and gender, a species whose allegiance is to Life first and all else second--and shows us how to get there."--

Review by Booklist Review

Authentic power, according to Zukav, comes when personality aligns with the soul. There are only two facets of personality, love and fear. Love brings compassion, contentment, and forgiveness. Fear brings jealousy, anger, and resentment. Zukav explains in detail how fulfillment can only come from changing ourselves rather than our environment. One must look inward rather than outward, become emotionally aware, and act from the loving part of one's personality. From this perspective, temptations and problems become opportunities to grow. Even the COVID-19 pandemic is cast as a chance to demonstrate cooperation and love for others. This is a challenging book. Zukav deals with big issues, including culture, religion, gender, and politics, and expects the reader to move beyond the usual self-help advice into the realm of universal consciousness. He offers a new paradigm in which the need for power is transformed into a drive to cooperate. He shows us a world in which there are no limits to love. Zukav's guide offers a ray of hope in these dark times, and fans of his classic, The Seat of the Soul (1989), will again be moved.
