Review by Library Journal Review

Self-help books usually fall into one of two categories: personal health/self-improvement/lifestyle guides or economic health manuals. In alternating chapters, this book attempts to cover both, neatly tied together by the theme of living a long, happy, and healthy life. Sets of self-tests to establish economic and personal health baselines are followed by simplistic protocols for improvements in specific areas. Save first. Move instead of sitting. Reduce stress. Despite repeated statements that this is not just other simplistic self-help book, it is, although a relatively clever read for the genre. The work is performed by the authors, and Roizen, in particular, has a charming reading style that keeps the listener engaged, even when the many initially amusing, self-deprecating uses of clichés and references to modern culture become annoying. VERDICT Recommended for self-help aficionados, in particular, fans of Dr. Oz. ["A positive, practical book for anyone middle-aged or older": LJ 3/1/17 starred review of the Grand Central hc.]-I.
