Gr 3-6-This lively graphic novel collects all six issues of the comic book miniseries. Cake is an obsessively skilled player of an interactive game called Card Wars, and although Fionna wants to participate in her friend's hobby, she is tired of being defeated. Fionna encourages Cake to join the Ultimate Game Time Club, where Cake's talents as a player earn her a spot in the Card Wars Tournament. In her frantic preparation for the tournament, Cake ignores Fionna, even canceling plans that they have to attend a festival together. Disappointed, Fionna goes to the festival on her own and makes a new friend. The day of the tournament arrives, and Cake's single-mindedness about the competition leads to some heated words and hurt feelings. However, when Cake struggles in the last round of the tournament, she finally realizes that it is Fionna's encouragement that has helped her to reach the top level of the competition. Filled with the same zany characters who appear on the popular Cartoon Network show, this volume is packed with color and crazy antics.
