Government interference plagues Kolt "Racer" Raynor and his Delta Force team in Fury's latest military thriller. The president wants to radically revamp the world of special ops, so he's decided to combine the Navy SEALs with Delta Force into one unit called One Killer Force. It's hardly the time for intramural conflict as terrorist threats loom and an agent in North Korea needs rescuing. On a secret mission, Raynor smells trouble—or is he simply falling apart?—and decides to disobey his superior officer's orders. Nonstop action is the result. The dynamics of how competing forces work together add appeal to this high-energy adventure thriller. A perfect alternative for Brad Taylor fans. Copyright 2014 Booklist Reviews.

Living up to his call sign, Delta Force Commander Kolt "Racer" Raynor is sent all over the map—from a joint operation with Navy SEALs to Syria to observe a hit on an elusive terrorist to the Ukraine to take down a terrorist then on to Stockholm to meet with Staff Sgt. Cindy "Hawk" Bird for details of the newest assignment. A deep-cover asset in North Korea is in imminent danger and needs to be rescued in order to retrieve critical information he has uncovered. Then the action really picks up. VERDICT The fourth series entry (after Full Assault Mode) is feverishly paced, and Fury isn't afraid to portray a flawed hero. A few clunky glitches in the writing slow the hectic action somewhat, but series buffs and readers who appreciate an earthy protagonist will be well satisfied. [See Prepub Alert, 4/20/15.] [Page 84]. Review by Publisher Summary 3

Still recovering from his near fatal wounds suffered at the Yellow Creek Nuclear Plant, Delta Force Commander, Major Kolt "Racer" Raynor, is thrust into a new battle with some of the toughest killers he's ever faced - US Navy SEALs. Government austerity measures have the Joint Chiefs of Staff contemplating the unthinkable - combining Delta Force and the SEALs into a single unit: One Killer Force. In this installment of Dalton Fury's Delta Force series, Kolt's career is in jeopardy and worst of all, the final say rests in the hands of men who have reasons to want to see Kolt gone.Recovered from her own wounds, Cindy "Hawk" Bird is closing in on becoming the first official female operator in the history of the US military...She only has to survive an insertion into the most repressive regime on earth.Meanwhile, a new terrorist threat looms on the horizon in the form of not one, but possibly two mushroom clouds. Kolt earns his call sign as the action has him racing to the world's hottest combat zones from Syria to Ukraine on hunter-killer missions to eliminate the terrorists before they can enact their deadly mission. Half a world away, a spy deep in the secretive North Korean regime sends a desperate call for help. A new danger to world peace and security is growing in the heart of the increasingly unstable Communist country and no amount of sanctions or political negotiations are going to stop it. Violently applied force is needed, and needed now before it's too late.
