Review by Booklist Review

In the third book in the Starbound trilogy, charming hacker Gideon (aka The Knave) and con artist Sofia Quinn are thrown together literally when both are discovered trying to infiltrate LaRoux Industries headquarters. Both have scores to settle with powerful CEO Roderick LaRoux, as do reintroduced characters and lovers Tarver and Lilac (These Broken Stars, 2013) and Flynn and Jubilee (This Shattered World, 2014). Each of the six has lost loved ones as the result of LaRoux's misguided quest to bring about world peace by conquering all the intergalactic countries, and each faces the threat of losing his or her own life as the Whispers take over Lilac's body and mind during LaRoux's final effort to overpower humanity. Kaufman and Spooner have deftly dovetailed characters, worlds, and experiences across the three novels, while emphasizing each couple's independent lives and love stories. The strong duality of voiced chapters, the tension-filled climax, and the sweet, satisfying conclusion will thrill sci-fi, love story, and adventure readers alike.--Bradburn, Frances Copyright 2016 Booklist

Review by Horn Book Review

After a botched infiltration of LaRoux Industries, hacker Gideon and con-artist Sofia team up to take down the corrupt intergalactic corporation that hurt them both. Neither realizes that more is on the line. High-stakes action and cameos from series favorites culminate in a satisfying trilogy conclusion (These Broken Stars; This Shattered World). Snarky dialogue counterbalances danger to keep things from getting too dark. (c) Copyright 2016. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
