PreS-K-A preschooler tackles each day with unbridled enthusiasm, just like his father does...or at least to some extent. Daddy approaches his weekday activities-morning commute, a piled-high desk, stacks of bills-with stoicism. The two perspectives alternate between the boy's and his father's on spreads with large, simple text. The lively, cartoonish illustrations convey the ironic humor behind the story line with sunny bright colors for the toddler. Daddy's pages are more somber with blacks, browns, and grays. In the end, everything comes together for a weekend enthusiastically spent as a family. Just Like Daddy has a little something for both caregiver and child to read and share. It may also convey to children the love that is behind those everyday adult activities that take grown-ups away from home.
