The Hamptons continues to be the place for the elite to spend the summer or take up permanent residence. Journalist and editor Iannacci visits 19 homes on that section of Long Island, NY, in this work. He presents newly constructed and renovated dwellings professionally handled by architects and interior designers, illustrating, in almost 250 photographs, a restraint in design that accommodates rather than overwhelms the residents. Many of the interiors and gardens featured are from the homes of professional interior designers such as Joe D'Urso, Jonathan Adler, and Simon Doonan. VERDICT A refreshing, divergent look at luxurious residences that stand apart from the typical megamansions. (c) Copyright 2014. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
