Review by Booklist Review

This book presents smart and sharp designs, beautifully photographed in color, with step-by-step instructions (and charts, when needed) down to the weaving in of yarn ends. But the adjective quick begs many questions. What's the length of time involved? Is the pattern truly a speed-knitting one for all needleworkers (especially since most patterns have a range of difficulty between the two and three level out of four)? Designs, on the whole, involve some complicated work, such as cables, Fair Isle, and other intricate stitching. So, it is fair to ask these questions, yet we can't help but admire the finished projects, such as animal vests for little ones, a cunning leaf headband, the holiday cut-holly hat, and an elegant garter-lace-striped shawl. A quick overleaf at the back of the book reacquaints readers with abbreviations and other basics.--Jacobs, Barbara Copyright 2010 Booklist
