Review by Horn Book Review

While pretending to be a teacher, Freda is schooled in basic manners by her "students." Carlos resists washing his hands until his classmates demonstrate how easy (and fun!) it is. These easily resolved and tensionless books combine purposeful stories with cartoony illustrations to reinforce social skills and good behavior. Adequate for discussion starters, the series sacrifices storytelling for didactic lessons. [Review covers these Stuart J. Murphy's I See I Learn titles: Freda Says Please and Scrubba Dub, Carlos.] (c) Copyright 2014. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.

Carlos liked to draw with chalk. He liked to build with clay. And he liked to play in mud. But he didn't like to wash his hands. Excerpted from Scrubba Dub, Carlos by Stuart J.
