The feisty Madison sisters from The Heiress are back in this amusing and sentimental Regency. Lisa Madison adores her neighbor Robert, Lord Langley, but when he informs her she's "like a little sister to me" and appears oblivious to the charms revealed by her transparent gown, she decides it's time to have a proper London season and find a man who will appreciate her. An intriguing mix of stubbornness, plotting, and naivete, Lisa charms her admirers easily and forces Robert to reconsider what he is giving up. Sisters Christiana and Suzette are as loyal as ever, and their husbands are more than willing to help with the matchmaking. The thinly veiled mystery is quite obvious to anyone who's read Suzette's story, but Robert is a dashing hero, and his efforts to work through his demons and preconceived ideas about marriage give this romance plenty of tender moments.
