Thanksgiving is the one holiday when many noncooks attempt to put together a big meal for friends and family, and this new title from the editors of Fine Cooking magazine should help alleviate some of the stress. It opens with a chapter on "How To Survive Thanksgiving (or Any Other Holiday)," followed by 100 recipes from appetizers to desserts. There are dozens of color photographs, including numerous step-by-step series, and there are boxes on ingredients and techniques, as well as make-ahead information. Rick Rodgers's Thanksgiving 101 is the standard on the subject, but this cookbook is also recommended for most collections. (c) Copyright 2010.
